It's great to have fun while supporting a good cause.
15 year old Eve Bramley chose to take on a fundraising project supporting WAIMR's Scott Kirkbrike Melanoma Research Centre (SKMRC) because her father is a melanoma survivor.
A fundraising event at Eve's home included informative talks by her Dad, David Bramley (who is a G.P.) and SKMRC founder, Yvonne Kirkbride.
With the help of a chocolate wheel and a 15th birthday party where Eve requested donations rather than gifts, Eve's total fundraising efforts exceeded $3,000.
"I was ecstatic," she said. "I never thought I'd achieve something like this and everybody's support made it really worthwhile."
Eve also had the opportunity to visit WAIMR's laboratories and described the experience as amazing.
"Just to meet the dedicated people who devote their whole lives to medical research makes you change your thoughts about everything," she said. "It made me want to be a doctor or a medical researcher one day."
